| Cre-ER Cre EGFP | EGFP expression pattern: According to the literature, serotonin transporter mRNA is primarily localized in raphe nuclei. The BAC data has correct expression in raphe nuclei. Fiber projection are stained across the CNS, giving an impression that EGFP reporter gene is widely expressed inside. In fact, labeled cell bodies are only observed in a few brain areas at P7, including raphe nuclei. Expression is also observed in the MOB, the thalamus and the cortex. These expression sites are transient during the development and are confirmed by Lebrand C et al paper and BGEM in situ data.
Cre expression pattern (ET33): matches adult gene expression (serotonin neurons and sparse numbers in cortex)
Cre expression pattern (ET127): matches adult (serotonin neurons) and developmental (neocortex layer 6) gene expression
Cre expression pattern (EZ8): Inducible Cre expression in serotonin neurons. Tamoxifen (6-10 mg/kg, ip) injected 1-3 times in the adult induces Cre restricted to serotonin neurons (no apparent labeling in cortex)
Cre expression pattern (EZ13): Inducible Cre expression in serotonin neurons. Tamoxifen (6-10 mg/kg, ip) injected 1-3 times in the adult induces Cre restricted to serotonin neurons (no apparent labeling in cortex)
