In collaboration with the Intramural Program of the National Institute of Mental Health (PI: Dr. Charles Gerfen), GENSAT offers fully characterized transgenic BAC-Cre recombinase driver lines that allow for cell-specific gene manipulations in the central nervous system of the mouse. The aim of this project is to provide the scientific community with Cre driver lines that will target selected neuronal or glial populations in the brain and spinal cord (also see PMID: 17855595).
